Meet Tyesha Gordon

Globally minded. Locally focused. Running to make Covington more connected, affordable, and community first.

Tyesha Gordon

Tyesha grew up in Northern Kentucky watching neighborhood heroes do the work that keeps communities together. Those examples shaped her belief that service does not have to wait for a title, and that local government should recognize the people already showing up.

She brings a background in communication, public relations, political science, creativity, and community organizing to this race. At NKU, she has studied how clear communication can move people from feeling ignored to feeling included.

Tyesha believes government should meet people where they are. For Covington, that means better connection between neighborhoods, income-aligned housing, youth spaces, fair taxes, and development that includes Latonia, South Covington, and every community at the table.

What guides her work.

Community service rooted in everyday neighborhood leadership

Arts, creativity, and youth voices as part of civic life

People-first communication that makes local government easier to understand

Public decisions that choose residents over politics as usual

Experience

Northern Kentucky roots

Growing up in NKY, Tyesha saw neighborhood leaders doing the work without always receiving recognition. That shaped her belief that everyday people can move a community forward.

Communication and public service

At Northern Kentucky University, she studies Public Relations and Political Science and brings a communicator’s eye to how people understand, access, and influence local government.

Community leadership

Her service on the Kenton County Executive Committee reflects a commitment to supporting leaders who listen first and put the public interest ahead of personal ambition.
